I make it 10 at a quick count, and what's going on at the peak with the crossing poles?

Seen so many Hexamid photos I might have gotten immunised to seeing a mad amount of guy lines and pegs on Zpacks tents.

it's the same with UK walking mags . All photos seem to show sunny skies with few clouds.
Apparently it is never overcast or rains in Scotland, and just a gentle wind murmurs outside my tent.:angelic:

Amazing they get photos of Scotland in calm weather, view is usually blocked by midges.

Haven't been north if the border in years, but I remember one night the window being literally an inch deep, just outside of Inverness. So I'm assuming every day north of the border is like that, unless there is storm force winds, so about 50℅ of the time :)

Brillant. If ever proof were needed that it's different strokes for different folks...

I think getting one of those hats with an umbrella on it would serve just as well as this mini tarp. :roflmao:

Does anyone here have experience with this silpoly fabric features in comparison with silnylon? Are these tear strenght claims for real?

Think they use ripstop by the roll fabrics so for more specific I'd check out rsbtr's site

Wonder how they got it lighter than the original Hexamid... Seems like theyve added more material to the top?

The 20D silpoly is likely the RBTR 1.1oz as used by Trekkertent.

We used a Drift 2 for 2 weeks in 2015.
It was very waterproof, softer hand than silnylon, felt strong enough.

Thanks @Enzo + @Mole - the RSBR 1.1 seems about right. Lots of strong opinions about silpoly on BPL, TentLap etc. From what I gather, silnylon starts out a bit stronger than silpoly but this is quickly reversed by UV exposure....
