Have to say, I was keenly waiting for this to come back into stock, but since then the Notch Li has been promised with zips and it was the zips that were the main reason I was keen on the Zero G. Comparing the two now, both have zips, both are around 230g ish as I remember (for the fly), the notch has a bigger footprint (good and bad), the notch has two doors (good), less mid-wall slope (good), costs more (bad). But the Zero G costs a tidy sum too.

I think despite all that the thing that really puts me off the zero G is reading somewhere that it's difficult to pitch close to the ground. I can't think why that should be so?

People say that about the Notch too of course but it's not really true.

Musings welcome. It's about time we talked about tents after all.

I'd choose the Notch. More head space. More foot space. Fewer pegs for a tighter pitch.

I see the attraction of the Zero G, but it's a mid (they suck). Don't think it has a centre seam at the back (which I think matters). And the 'Serenity Net' isn't - it'll flop in your face. But it looks super cute and minimalist.

I'm biased. I've used a Notch since 2013 over 1000+ miles and like it, a lot. The zips too are a big pull (sic).

It's probably more like 2000 miles if I think about it...

The lack of centre seam on SMD mids is their worst feature, they could also do with a couple of rear tie outs. My Gatewood Cape will probably disown me for typing that. :D

Lanshan 1 Pro looks very similar to a Lunar Solo but with a rear centre seam.

I bought an X mid last year , but have yet to use it, as always reach for the familiar reliability of my Notch (or Scarp).

    The X-Mid is nice.
The gear loft being very nice.
But more real estate and 23s longer to pitch...

I'm old enough to remember [B XMD] when @edh used to make snarky comments about gear lofts. My very few things fit on the floor, he used to say.

I have a notch too and it's great. I fancy the Li one for less weight and less sag. Then I can queue up beind Robin to try to sell my sil one. Which, by the way, for interested people is the very last of the zip ones before the sil moved to the overlap door model.

the ZeroG does look super cute and minimalist and that is appealing, but not appealing enough.

Come on.. you don't want handbags in the first tent thread we've had for ages?!

But.. wait. Wait. I have a nifty idea for a gear loft in a notch. Take one cheap mosquito head net. Attach rings at opposite ends to clip into kitten hooks at edges of interior. Hey presto, dual use gear loft.

No, they said the specs would be up today, but guess it's still to early in the states?
I'm guessing the zip will be the only real major difference, would be nice to see a solid top on the solid inner instead of the mesh on top like the previous. I think it was mole who pointed out it drips which you can see it could be prone to with the little bend in the outer ridge between the 2 poles.

I hope it sells out really, really quick, before I'm aware its even for sale :D

I've pretty much decided that next time the Strat Li comes into stock I'm going to take the hit and just buy it. 2 days ago, I was going for the new notch and two days before that it was the strat I wanted. Its sh!t having all this choice

Yeah, this staying in craic is getting very expensive!

Two choices that can be combined to produce spectacular results, and a good follow up discussion on what vice is the most expensive

    The new specs are up.

It has a two way waterproof zipper.
The solid inner is now a semi solid inner with a solid roof.
The weight for fly and mesh interior is 564g. (30g more than the no-zip version so far I remember without checking me lists)
Those were the only changes I could spot. Anyone see anything else?
There is no upper gear loft.

    No price up yet :(
