In the Shade of a tree in ...30 minutes ...1% so 5 hrs of shade 10% at best

Intermittentddirect sunlight ,hiking for eat 8hrs + 1hr stop , worst I can hope for is 20% . My days are likely to be 9-10hrs walking ,with 1.5hrs stops ,worst case 25% , best case a full charge plus surplus .
If I run my phone down to 10% , Charge to 90% ,I can get 2 x 80% charges + top up watch /torch/earbuds if needed from a full charge with the Klarus .

summary ...1 full charge of the Powerbank should give me two days heavy use of phone . 3 to 4 days light use . Bearing in mind ,I'm travelling south to north ,average daylight will be around 17hrs daylight , so even if only 8 are optimal , it should be enough to keep me out of gaol .

I've a few days to experiment with conditions ,/ How different powerbanks receive trickle / max availabile charge .

worst case ,I might swap the Klarus out for the Huawei 12k or carry the NB air to keep purely for fear/emergency.

I reckon that I could redneck the positioning ,so it's entirely almost horizontal whilst walking on non technical stretches ,to achieve the best results.

It will be a learning curve for sure ,but as long as something is continually plugged in ,every mah is a gain .

SolarFlex E10 Mini
Sold as 10W delivers almost 7W in the field without optimal exposure - for my needs (phone, Nikon, Kindle, pad inflator, headlight) it's enough even during very rainy days as I just had - with the sun back for two days everything is full again
Special new feature: the polyester of the X-Dome allows charging under the fly in the dry at about third strength : ) every little bit counts ; )

The only issue is that panel doesn't seem to be available anywhere currently, I assume you mean the FlexSolar E10 Mini that you've mentioned earlier in this thread. Hopefully it's just supply problems.

Mine worked surprisingly well for.the trip. Benefitted most.on short stops in high sun . Worked well enough pack.Mounted ,especially as it.was easy to move from front of the pack to the side . Be up for sale shortly ,as I won't be taking a sunny multi day for a long time 😔

I was also tempted by the 25W BlueSolar, too, but double the weight - turns out the 10W are sufficient even with 2/3 rain the last 2 weeks, so happy to save the weight : )
And yes FlexSolar - sorry for the typo, very rare occasion I get internet out here - I'm still surprised they are still not selling from their homepage, but European Amazons should help eventually ....

Did you find a way of mounting the panel horizontally to your pack in the end? My panel has 4 sections and I feel like I'd need stays to prop up the two end panels haha it would look like a roof over the top of my backpack !!

I mostly had one panel on top and managed with something in the mesh pocket ,to give it some angle .When I had it mounted on the side ,I just took what ever was offered .
