Weight?! Great idea, I've got some tubing will do that to my alpkit mug 650, on handles & lid. It beats faffing with a tent peg and trying to hold up the tent at the same time...!
I made a wallet last week does that count? Just back from testing it in torrential rain. Unlike my leather one, that gets soggy,it has a coin pocket. I need a low profile snap to replace the resin one.
I made a trowel. Off cut of 1.0mm aluminium alloy 2021 (fuselage skin) . Very though. Unlike other alloys, it needs large bend radius. Crease 2 edges in scoop of blades, in a vice over a steel rod. Then bent the handle over a larger pipe in the vice. Cut, filed the edges of the blade, then deburred & rounded edges. Weight approx 30g, time 40 mins cost nowt! Tough as well. Thanks, it's a bit portly at 38g, it must be the plastic stiffeners.
I've been a busy bee, wallet trowel. Now it have a trailstar that needs it skylight fixing. (awake in a storm pole clasped after pegs pulled out. Half asledp, I put the pole up spike to the roof oops. Nuff said). I might turn it in to a vent I've been thinking about....
Made a top quilt for a Dutch forum member. He asked if I could make one with his own ideas. Like a channel on all 4 ends so he could use it as a under quilt too. Basic design, square 2mx1,40 , 200gr apex and 10 membrane from adx. 4 snaps each side and 2 low profile buckles for pad straps and a 70cm zippered footbox. Weight about 800gr
Sure, I used these in 16mm https://www.adventurexpert.com/product/low-profile-center-push-buckle-16-20mm/
