Various, mostly minor, damage around here. Some wood work torn off our garage. Bins all over the back - despite being in a sheltered place.
Folks across the road had the roof on their car port torn up and cracked the car wind screen.
Leccy off for 8hrs - back on now - hats off to the guys who had to go out and do the repairs.

Gust of 101 mph recorded in Largs (?)

Our conservatory had a lucky escape. I shall be busy with block & tackle and chainsaw tomorrow.....
Tree down safely, no damage, got off lightly. This tree had been suffering from the ash die back disease, so in some ways it is a relief that it has come down without consequences.
..and there must be a couple of month's worth of firewood for our woodburner there....

We had a similar thing happen last winter. A branch size of a tree trunk fell off a Monterey pine. Luckily it was on the paddock, so no harm and saved us buying any firewood this winter.

@edh I hear from my sister that Helensburgh swimming pool never got off lightly & will be off limits for a while after the roof got ripped apart yesterday 🤨
Helensburgh Pool took a hammering. There are tons of videos doing the rounds. They started assessing the damage when the red alert passed on Friday night and have been hard at work trying to repair it ever since. I haven’t passed today but I’m hopeful that it won’t take too long. Helensburgh was full of sodden roof felt at the bottom of the town yesterday not much of it from the pool. A couple of streets were closed off While roof repairs were being carried out and there’s lots of free firewood if you act before the clean up gangs get round to it. Most of my dog walks are blocked in one place or another with fallen or broken trees and the 3 LochsWay/John Muir Way which has already been blocked for a year following a storm last February is likely to be in trouble again.

There are bits of the pool roof lining all along the seafront.

I was up the hill this morning and all was more-or-less OK - will see how/where the trees are when I go over the Killoeter ridge later in the week...
