Tread Lite Gear - New Products thread

Last winter I was camped just below Red Pike and it was really peeing it down. Overnight everything got soaked. In the morning I really needed a brew but all I had for a flame was a soaked Bic lighter that wouldn't light.

I'd guess that's what the little bag is for.

These look really nice but I've got to ask: what is the purpose of storing a disposable plastic lighter in its own zipped pouch? Genuinely curious rather than trying to be snarky.

Yea that's a fair comment. Bics are pictured but you can use clippers or other refillable lighters and of course the soto is a long lasting bit of kit and is refillable. As to the why, If I get enough requests for something I'll give it a go and see if it sells. I tend to find micro sized things are very popular as there isn't a great deal of commercial product competition. They seem to be selling well but first day sales can be deceptive so we'll see how they go.

@paul - I'd be grateful to know the approximate diameter (if you configure the sleeve into a round tube cross-section) of the pole bag

Its exactly 3" flat so a shade under 2" diameter. Im hoping to do a slightly bigger one for soulo, hubba type 2 pole shelters but need to do my research to get sizes dialed in

Received our new pole sleeve today thanks
An excellent piece of ultralight British made kit. When packing Carbon shelter poles inside or outside a pack, these help to protect kit and the poles.
They make putting them Away or removing them from my pack a doddle.
As our poles are one of the last pieces of kit to go away, and first to get out.. It's makes sense to have them in a sleeve that prevents snagging or pinching other kit like clothing, sleeping bags, quilts etc when we push them inside out packs.
They will help the longevity of our pack liners when slid between pack and liner then there's the kit porn factor... And Dcf for the win.

Mine has 6 lengths of 14mm carbon pole sections inside for use with our Supermid.

Outstanding build quality, 2nd to none in the UK and I dare say in the world?
Beautifully taped seams, quality micro cordlock and line to keep the weight down  a staggering 6g total
