1.55kg, better than expected. I've got 10 stakes at 12g each. Marc didn't mention the stuff sack - assuming it has one...

Hopefully get my hands on it shortly. :)

That's looking great . The triangular panels are good. Was thinking a single panel would be pushing it.

3 season I would guess……. but just how much wind will it tolerate ??…. time will tell….. keep us posted. :)

There is a fair bit of fabric to flap granted but it has been tested by Marc in 60mph gusts. He added extra pegging points to the middle of the door panels* as these were deflecting too much. I doubt we'll be out in horrific conditions with the kids anyway and higher up finding a big enough patch of ground to pitch will be fun. I wanted 3 season to keep weight sensible as we rarely camp in exposed locations outside of Easter - October.

*I'll need 4 more stakes

My Stealth 1 was delivered this morning - it has taken a long(ish) time - I ordered it in November, but worth the wait. It is a superbly made piece of kit and seems more robust than my TN Solar Photon 1 which has stood up to some pretty foul Scottish weather in its time. Decided to replace the Solar only because its inner pitch first and needs 17 pegs! Six weeks to go before I get to use the Stealth on a TGOC warm up.

Having looked at Mole's Pyrenees photos, I'm very tempted by the Drift 2 Custom. I've been having sleepless nights about a Tarptent Notch (with semi-solid inner), as it looks near perfect for solo use both in the UK and abroad. However, for only a couple of hundred grams extra I could go for the Drift 2 and it could double as lightweight replacement for my Zephyros 2. BUT, it wouldn't be the lightest solo option.
Any thoughts? More feedback on the Drift Mole? I know Edh and a few others have experience with the Notch - can anyone offer a comparison with the Drift, apart from size obviously.
Both the Notch and the Drift look like they could be a more comfortable (but still light) option than a tarp. I've been looking into the possibility of using either a flat tarp or a Trailstar with inner etc, but once you add up the weights and costs of making tarp camping feasible in Scotland, then the Tarptents and Trekkertents start to come out quite favourably. Not as versatile as a tarp perhaps but maybe better suited to the Scottish weather.

Our Drift2 is roomy even for 2. I can't ever see myself choosing it to use it solo for backpacking.

If solo, and personally I'd probably choose a Stratospire 1 or MLD mid/inner or maybe if I was shorter, a Notch or Locusgear Khufu/inner (both the latter are used by 6footers, I just prefer a little more wriggle room)

Once you add the weight of an inner a Trailstar is heavier than the notch or the drift so they win the weight debate unless you are prepared to forego the inner.

They won't be as bulletproof or as flexible as a TS but they will be warmer and, in most conditions, robust enough.

Although it sounds obvious they are proper tents rather than a tarp, albeit a luxury one!

It took me a few nights to get used to my TS and now I'd probably only choose a tent in serious winter conditions. My advice would be to borrow a TS if you can and decide if you want a tarp or a tent. Once you've made that decision you will at least have reduced your options some.

I've not used the Drift; big real estate I would guess?

The Notch fits into small spaces reasonably easily - important for me as I occasionally push the evening boundary...just squished it in here..

The Notch is a very good tent for me - light, uses poles I carry to hold it up, plenty roomy enough (I don't take much). With the sides rolled up views are good and it is 'tarpesque'. I've seldom used anything else in the UK, Europe, US for the last few years....although a cuben Solomid is now a favourite.

Lovely pitches.
Is that a 6'mat in there? Looks wider than I recall.
I may have been spoilt by the spacious Scarp, but when I tried lying in your Notch it felt quite tight/close at the head/shoulders for me. But that looks roomier.
