I think this was discussed before, but I can't find that....? The Trips Reports seem to only be available to Members, is there a specific reason for that, as they would seem to be to me a good way to draw people towards the site?
I think it was moved when there was the spate of people wild camping and leaving rubbish everywhere. The idea was not to reveal good sites and thereby encourage more of this.
I think it was hidden to avoid fly campers taking over nice spots. But it hasnt been paywalled ( thankfully).
Hmmmm... So I look for my Colorado Trail trip report (not logged in) and don't find it... Nor via a Google Search... Perhaps I'm having a bad day
That’s how it was intended Ed, the only way to find a TR is to be logged in I was going to make them available for all when the weather cooled but haven’t done it yet.
If I fancy a fire in the winter, which I usually do once in a while, I go to proper campsite. Plenty of empty semi wild campsites to enjoy in winter.
i agrée. I mentioned it in order to propose that the arrival of cooler weather may not be sufficient to take the trip reports out of purdah.
