I was never sure about toe thongs either, but Bedrocks were the first that felt comfortable on me. I’ve rarely even worn flip flops except on tropics on holidays.

If they are that light then they would be viable as a second pair of footwear and idea for river crossings and short stretches between.

I was all set on getting a pair of the Xero Trail https://xeroshoes.co.uk/xero-shoes-umara-ztrail.html a few weeks back, 155g per Sandal, but doing a bit of research I discovered some crap reviews, will probably revisit them next year when the sales kick in though:rolleyes:

Those Tevas are a bloody good weight if that is per pair, mine are 451g the pair and very similar.

I have the Xero Z-treks. Really would've loved to love them, but they just didn't work for my feet. The Trek has an edge, almost like a minor wall on couple of areas of the sole and for some reason I kept stepping on the medial border of that edge on the heel area.

You might be right, I can't find where I previously found the weight of them. I'll see when they get here.

Those look identical to the socks I've got. Found them pretty good for wandering around camp... they feel cold when I'm wearing them though.

    You're right. 198g each.

Still a better weight saving than my 10s, although I do really like my tevas, if they were half the weight I'd carry them as camp/river/sore feet shoes

The toe thong wouldn't normally be a drama for me as I find that style quite comfy, but for out in the cudds I like to be able to put something on while still wearing socks if it's cold, the teva style is ideal, just wish they were a bit lighter.

Came across the Unshoe Pah Tempe which seems like the ideal solution, if I could find somewhere to buy them

Xero Z-treks weigh 478g per pair and have the same config. Xero has amazing sales every now and then, I got mine for about $30 couple of years ago.

@PhilHo saw these in Decathlon. Seemed lighter than my sandals.

Ive tried these Tyvek overshoes for camp wear as a UL option but they fail too regularly for me easily splitting along the seams (about £2 for 10 pairs on Ebay)

I've got these for river crossings, decent enough sole, never had the chance to use them since buying (50g?..)

    rps20191231_122809.jpg

Just got these from AliExpress hoping they would do both jobs (50g) but they dont have any reinforced sole, no good for crossings but i might start using as more reliable camp shoes..

Still waiting for these to show up but looking at them i don't think they're going to offer anything different

Might try gluing insoles into one of these pairs

I have the silicon shoe covers. They are good to go over thick socks or I use them over my Montane insulted tent shoes. Fine for around camp and maybe for the odd river crossing but I’ve not tried them for that.

They look like the ones im waiting on, i think I'd need something more solid on the sole, riverbeds really hurt my feet (a bit of a wimp ). Look ideal as more permanent camp overshoes though.

They’ll be fine for around camp but I pretty much just take my boots and socks off and wade through anything to wide to jump!
