If you like the Helm 2 how's about the Helm 1. Not too expensive and easy to sell on if it doesn't work for you.

For a 1.5 person tent the StratoSpire 1 is a good option (latest version will be just under 1kg w/o stakes), having large floor area and huge vestibules. I'd also recommend the X-Mid 1 but it can't claim to be a 1.5 person tent. The Stratospire has 20% off at the moment so at $250 that is a lot of tent for the money.

as long as the inner isnt sitting on my face and i can sit up, im happy,

the choice of a 1.5-2p was more for a vestibule.

must admit im a bit put off buying from the us now :(

im sure i did, but from memory they need sealing, which is a big fear of mine, having no where to do it,
And it looks like you cant comfortably sit up in it which would put it out of the running for me. The Vern PC looks interesting but a bit too heavy and bulky.

Similar to others' experience, I too had very smooth delivery from Tarptent
The vestibules on the Stratospire are huge; those on the X-Mid are also plenty large enough for cooking and storing gear.

The inner on the StratoSpire is fairly low at the ends (better than a small mid and should not be touching your face unless fairly tall). Some people will notice this, others not be bothered in the slightest. Different people will prefer the ergonomics of the X-Mid vs Stratospire. I find the X-Mid gives me a nice feeling of space when laying down because of the height above my head; it has lots of end to end headroom but significantly less width in the inner at mid-to-peak height than the Stratospire. Take your pick.
The Stratospire requires seam sealing (I've done this indoors as I don't have anywhere else convenient but ideal if you have a separate room you can do this in); the X-Mid does not.

If you prefer not to seam seal your Tarptent they will do it for you. I had them do my Notch - cost not unreasonable, and they made a much neater job of it than I did on my Scarp.

I reckon you'd be delighted with a Stratospire, or a Scarp if you don't mind a bit more weight.

Xmid ordered.

Hopefully customs let's this one through. 🤯
If you ordered from Kaviso, you had the shipping options for self declaration or pre-declared. And you might be able to change it still, if you shoot them a message, if you wish so.

Another vote for pre-pay of customs with FedEx. Mine was delivered in a seemingly impossible 3 days if I recall correctly. Items delivered by Royal Mail have had customs delays this year but courier deliveries seem not to have suffered the same delays.

Tbf I had that with the kuiu 🤣 I've sent them an email, don't know why stuff is so difficult.

Chose the tent, chose 1-5 pre pay tax and then it's processed at 1-5 days only. My luck when it comes to purchases is terrible

I don't know about Kuiu, but Kaviso has been very good with their customer services, as you can read at Durston Gearheads group on FB, if you join.

You’re having one hell of a challenge to be a customer! Just why no company will hold your hand until you receive your item from them is quite astounding. You surely cannot be the first?

You have no idea the problems I have buying stuff.

Had 2 oled TV faulty before I got a good one, two broken espresso machines, faulty from new, £1000 table broke in a month, £500 chairs were wobbly. Frost free fridge full of frost, faulty washing machine,

Tents wise hand a ball ache too.

Now it's either unlucky or products are just crap

very quick
And it might have been quicker if it hadn't been over the weekend. I only had a narrow delivery window when somebody would be around to receive it, so I had to go for the pricier delivery option.
UPS must have some kind of special agreement with UK customs, as it appears to have passed through outside of office hours.
