And it might have been quicker if it hadn't been over the weekend. I only had a narrow delivery window when somebody would be around to receive it, so I had to go for the pricier delivery option.
UPS must have some kind of special agreement with UK customs, as it appears to have passed through outside of office hours.

Reality is that customs are not involved. All carriers process the customs clearance themselves as agents and remit to HMRC. Major hubs are pretty much 24-7 365 unless royal mail entities are involved, then its whatever....think of a number....watch the tracking stall lol

I looked at the xenon, Vango were knocking them out cheap for black Friday, I had the helium but Vango removed the door ties, so the only door option was to pull a wet outer and clip it to a dry inner

You can see it here in my vid.

So,

I ordered a helm 2,

OBS I'll still keep looking for lighter tents, it's a real shame the kiui never got here as that ticked alot of boxes!

There are the big sky international tents, but unsure of those as there are no reviews.

So not really a unicorn but the helm came, along with some 6" Easton pegs to go with the 9" I already have

So with the tent and poles it weighs near bang on 2.1kg,

That's a good 8-900 grams more in the bag,

I'll keep looking for the perfect tent, the bag I may look at in the January sales, 😵💫

Separate the outer and inner and stick them in a couple of bin liners. Poles can go down side of rucksack(inside or out).

That's the plan one in each pocket of the atom, then poles and pegs in the stretch pocket in the middle

Tempted to bin off the 3mm foam mat too, just adds bulk and I feel it has no real value 🤣

Helm Compact 2 can pitch inner and outer together so how will it get wet?
A bit different if it was inner pitch first

Horses for courses and whatever suits. If I'm on a multi day walk chances are the outers going to get wet with condensation. No problem to split inner and outer which I've found keeps the inner dry(ish). Bundling them up together just ends up a soggy mess. Each to their own I guess.
