I'm a student of life, always learning
Powertraveller Powerchimp Lite
Marmot Precip jacket - 371g
That Marmot might be the one I have..... just a sec
think so. Mine has a sleeve pocket and pit zips. Really breathable, best summer walking coat I've had.
I just bought a Montane batpack. 6L bumbag with 2 water bottle pockets. Good as an ultralight daysack or for ultra events. I've been after one for a while, but was reluctant to pay 40 quid, Blacks have them for 20 at the moment. Basically, I just bought a handbag 'cos it was half price :-D
... wish i knew you were making that order, you could have got me a stow pouch as well - its the only thing i'm missing and i'd find it quite handy
Be interested to know how you find the XPillow and how hard wearing those cuben bags are, i might then do an order myself.
The UL packlid is a nice to have but only seems to work for me when the pack is full, I've never been on a trip long enough to fill it!
Good to hear, read some mixed reviews on it but overall seemed like a decent budget option.
Latest splurge on footwear;

Geigerig pressurised 3l bladder. hoping it will turn my sawyer mini into a tap lol
OMG !!! The amount of gear that has been purchased on here already!!!!
That's really scary, I'm glad I have not succumbed to anything!
The worlds lightest commercial canister top stove just dropped through the letter box at 35g;
Bulin 100 10T
Quite a focused flame, should be good with narrower pots.
Does it feel pretty sturdy?
It seems up to scratch Matt and not flimsy. I've seen better machining, some minor burrs left on the holes and threads.
Not convinced about the pot stand yet, although the way the weight is supported by the arms of the stand will help it stay in one piece.
The valve assembly is sensibly aluminium, the rest is Ti. The jet unscrews to allow a block to be cleared (would have been nice if one of the air inlet holes had been cut hexagonally to work as a jet tool)
Esbit branded Imco Streamline petrol lighter just dropped to replace the one I stupidly lost in the hills a couple of weeks ago;
IMO, about the best lighter ever made.
Loving that!! Link me up please!!
Cheers mate, sounds good. Been toying with the idea of getting the alpkit one once it's back in stock but might go for this instead, hmm...
I have had my Bulin 100 10T a couple of weeks now, only used it once when it arrived to brew up in the shed but it done the job well, I think that it will be a gas eater though
Fire maple looks good, better pot stand than this one. I discounted that one though as the filter is a pain.
Good to know Ozzy. I'll do some burn tests tonight, see how much it uses. I like the controllable valve and how it will simmer if needed, probably be a case of leaving it turned down to get the efficiency.
Edit; my scales say 6g to boil 500ml in my narrow 900 ti pot with no windshield. Turned up just enough so flames don't lick up the side of the pot.
Looks nice Pete, have you tried the msr pocket rocket though?
No mate, the flame spread is a bit wide on that.
Esbit Lighter link (they have the Triplex too, sliding wind collar); http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/1512...f11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108&ff19=0
5m fibreglass lampwick 2.5mm.
Stainless welded mesh for a pot support.
A crate of beer for some raw materials .
Well it's here . First impressions are good, time will tell .
Comfy and supportive but not really and truly a lightweight hike option, it's more suited to base camp type situations and days out where packing a full size chair in isn't an option.
Now to find a way to mod the legs so they cope with soft ground
6800 mAh extended battery and back for my newish Samsung s4 mini from dx.com. My phone is now not so mini........
Quick delivery, only took 55 days to get here.
Be interested to hear how you get on with it ...
