The more I see that the more I like it kit!!

Looks like the fly can be pitched on its own too, and weighs 345g!! You would need a bivi but for 600g, that fly, a borah gear bivi and a polycryo ground sheet you will have a truly ultralight spacious shelter!! I would love a look at it in the flesh too!! It reminds me of another tent iv seen somewhere in Cuban!!

We shall see, could be I just bought a complete piece of junk! But yeah it looks good to me and fly only pitching definitely added to its appeal. Full review to follow :).

If you do a search on ebay, aliexpress etc for "portable folding camping seat chair" they'll pop up in the mix.

I'd link direct to the seller I purchased from but someone in the chain caught the placcy bag it comes in with a sharp edge and failed to notice* that it also caught the carry bag ~ chair's fine though :D .

    * I'm opting to give them the benefit of the doubt that the damage wasn't noticed ;)

Edit: There's more colours available than just the blue we tend to see ~ and no, it's not a Helinox nor was it £80+. At this point and having actually seen and handled the original version I'm wondering whether these are actually cosmetic seconds which got pulled before any branding could be applied o_O

    What does it weigh mate?

Mine, including the carry bag and laccy band, comes in at 887g ...

Volume of the packed chair is roughly the same as a 2L pop bottle ~ scientifically tested by putting a 2L pop bottle in the bag ;) .

It'll need modding to prevent the feet sinking into soft ground. Bit of poly (or type) tube front and back should soon sort that :D

Looks like there is a new version (2nd Edition) of Backpack Gourmet Rich from 2014?

Tempted to get one myself as doing some dehydrating is on my todo list :)

[edit] Ah apparently they're basically exactly same anyway.

I thought about trying one with some poly cryo and a nozzle off a foot pump, it's just another thing to carry though

    Matt, A parcel from Dan(Zelph)?
Did you get one of his rippled windshields with it? Brilliant they are.

I'm now my 2nd Starlyte (first died recently, but had regular use since 2010). Have 2 spare in case he stops - my fave alcohol burner - simple and efficient, and small so, home made cones can be as short as possible. (though his newer ones are taller than they used to be)

The best stove I've had from Dan yet has been the Fancee Feest, not practical in a caldera cone but great for anything else.
