What have you bought?

Bought an all black OMM Core Hoody in Medium. The expected weight is about 116g, so if it as warm as I am hoping it is, I can use it to replace my Decathlon Forclaz Trek 100 down hoody and save 163g in the process.
They are out of stock at UOG, and the guy there told me they won't be ordering a new batch till late in the year, maybe September, so I had to get it direct from OMM, which cost me £90 with free delivery.
Thanks for the info 👍

Well I have only used with the cape once so more first impressions really however the cap is really good. Much lighter and less sweaty than my trucker caps. The ventilation on the sides makes the cap feel more airy and you can adjust the cape so you still have the ventilation on the top or cover the mesh panels. Its a wee bit fiddly putting the cape on and off but sure it will get better with more use. The back of my neck was a bit hot and sweaty when it was still with the cape fully on and drawcord pulled (not as bad as to my sun hoody -Arcteryx Remige) but with more protection around the lower face and front neck. I used sun cream for my face and front neck. There are several loops on the cape i think to thread through the headband (I didnt do this) and had no issues. The sizing chart is off (chart says I am medium) and large fit great so maybe size up if needed. The velcro adjuster at the back is comfortable. The headband at the front is a little flappy (hangs down a bit when not worn) so just need to be aware when putting it on.
Thanks for the info👍

Nope. Bought it from LiteSmith but you can get them in UK I think. "thumb Toothbrush"

Bought some bits from them while ordering their QwikBack chair. .

True ultralighter uses a 'pinky toothbrush'. A thumb toothbrush is too heavy.

On special offer, bargain price.

Aside from supplementing my daily diet with this type of product, I find them the best way to eat healthily on multi day walks. As they become a little boring after a while, I make sure to have a feast whenever I hit civilization!

Simple, super lightweight, nutritious and highly cost effective compared to commercial dehydrated meals etc.

This is the 1st time I have ordered this particular product; flavour on offer - banana caramel - may be somewhat sweet, but I will be happy to tolerate that at this price!

Other Bulk products I have used:

Breakfast smoothie (also on offer currently) - excellent and super easy on the digestive system.

Complete fruits - although i was happy with the flavour, nutrients etc, I had a problem with the packaging not being airtight/moisture resistant. I reported this to Bulk customer services who were excellent and offered a full refund (without me asking….)

I have considerable experience with other brands such as Huel and The Protein Works - this complete food from Bulk appears to have the best nutritional mix.

A word of caution with such sites - their prices fluctuate constantly - needs almost daily monitoring to identify a good deal!

As an example. this Bulk complete food mix has been at RRP £49 for 3kg for many months. Recently the RRP dropped to £39 and the special offer has been applied this morning.

Yuk...Full of unnecessary additives, high in artery clogging saturated fat and it contains Sucralose...A nasty artificial sweetener that contains Chlorine, and which therefore kills off the good bacteria in your gut, negatively affecting your digestion.

I will stick with my ultralight food mixes (I'm up to "Mix 8" now ). Each mix is 125g in total, and only requires 250ml of boiling water to rehydrate it.

Each mix contains purely natural ingredients with no artificial additives whatsoever. It is high in energy (about 650kcals), high in carbs and protein too, but low in saturated fat, salt, and sugars...As long as you don't have a nut allergy, it's the healthiest food you can get.
Each mix costs no more than 50p as I buy the ingredients in bulk and it's really easy to digest too, plus it doesn't stick to a Titanium pot easily so it's easy to wipe the pot clean afterwards. Of course the amount of each ingredient can be increased or decreased to change the nutritional content or flavour or you can add additional ingredients. My earlier mixes had Rice Protein powder in it them too, but that added too much protein (1g per kilo of bodyweight is the recommended intake), so I stopped adding it.

Yuk...Full of high in artery clogging saturated fat in Nido, cheese powder and egg powder.

Except, saturated fat doesn't clog the arteries. Coronary heart disease is a chronic inflammatory condition, the risk of which can be effectively reduced from healthy lifestyle interventions.

it is of course very much each to their own when it comes down to food. I would not choose the diet tarptent prefers for his own valid, excellent reasons.

My preference for basing my food intake on this type of product is somewhat down to convenience/laziness.

However, it also enables me to go stoveless.

Of course, always important to be aware of nutritional content. In this Bulk complete food, saturated fats constitute just 2.5g per 100g served.

Forgot to mention I also bought a pair of OMM Sonic shorts, in Medium...At only 21g (Half the weight of a lightweight pair of synthetic boxers) they might be the lightest running shorts in the world?
They are body fitting without being too tight and they are very flexible so they move with you.
Strangely, they are matt outside but glossy inside, which I'm guessing could be some sort of waterproof or windproof membrane? Or perhaps something to prevent chaffing? Not sure.
I plan to use them as ultralight swimming trunks/walking shorts, rather than running shorts, as these days I walk far more than I run.

I see you're repeating this utter nonsense AGAIN. This is a complete myth purportrated by people like yourself and misinformation online and false marketing by "diet" companies and food manufacturers. It has been debunked many times and proven as false.

It was never even a concluion in the first place. The idea was simply a hypothesis in the 50's that caught on and repeated as a fact when it isn't.
