What have you bought?

And in the opposite corner (a regretful buy)

Racqua water shoes. A good shoe and sturdy sole that doesn’t compensate for them weighing 300g even though they were decribed as lightweight. My croc-alikes weigh 220g but are bulky to carry.

I’ll keep them but will use them when car camping.

Thems vibram trek ascent knock off soles...! Have you tried hiking in them? I did 60 miles over two days, backpacking in my five fingers trek ascent ✋

Oh! No, I’ve just got them and weighed them. Not taken them out of the house yet. I’m not too sure about hiking in them as they’re neoprene but it’s worth an experiment of a few miles I think.

(a dumb question - did you hike in them without socks?)

The only dumb question is the question not asked 😉
On the 2 dayer, I wore xoskin socks with them. Helps stop rubbing from trail dust and some extra comfort when constantly wet.

A Durston Kakwa 40 Ultragrid 2024 (850g in Large) - thanks to @verysimple for the spot.

Second try in the none-too-urgent search for a lighter pack than my trusty old Nigor Zero-G (1100g).

The first try (last year) was a Gossamer Gear G4-20 which I only had to try on once to realise it wasn't for me.

Will this be The One? We shall see...

Mountain Equipment Glace sun hoodie
Now a convert to sun hoodies, tried it on a 7 hour walk today in 29°c, felt great, kept the sun off, wicked well and didn't pong.
Doesn't have thumb loops but arms were long enough and elastic enough to cover my knuckles and stay put.

Black Diamond Distance FLZ and Fizan Compact 4. We want poles that will fit inside our packs as we've been doing so many overnight bus journeys recently and I've been getting fed up with sharing leg space with a bag of poles.

Surprised you're even allowed to bring then up with you. Normally when we take longer bus journeys everything goes in the back "boot" storage or underneath. Id much rather have it by my feet as everything underneath just gets chucked around, piled on, squashed etc

No problem with bringing them on the bus: you can bring whatever you like, as long as you can fit it under/on the seats you're in, or on the overhead shelf.
We ask the attendant (who loads your bags, brings you coffee or other refreshments and wakes you up at your stop) not to put anything heavy on them, and they're usually good about it.

FEATHERED FRIENDS

Flicker UL Long/Wide Quilt Sleeping Bag

Been wanting one for what seeks like forever.

I cannot work out how to put a photograph up, but I'm sure everyone knows of them. Really responsive company I found in my dealings with them.
