Torrid APEX Jacket by Enlightened Equipment Graphite 7D

Ebay £170 it also turned up just as i was leaving so got to use it

Compared to the rab its lighter, feels more delicate, drawstrings are in the pockets haha

You can feel the warmth as soon as you put it on

what are the cuffs like ? mi.e were tiny . it.was as if they used generic arms and just changed body dimensions .
I used to call mine the Torrible.
Sold.it.in the end.

I get what you're saying they feel quite bunched up in the wrist,

Im going to try it side by side with the rab later. It did fit over my base layer and senchi ok though and is just for camp

mine was huge in body and small in arm volume and tiny wrists .

I have the bigger version of the pot and it’s superior to Evernew’s offerings for a few grams IMHO

I thought the 50p bodyboard was a good buy too. Never heard of that brand

Hood is massive and they are pretty thick for a sun hoodie

Cheap sun hoodie id say look at the caperlan ones from decathlon, much lighter weight but my favourite is this



Outdoor vitals snagged off ebay, feels like you have nothing on, down side is the fabric snags super easy

I'd recommend the sun hoodies from Helly Hansen. This year I'll be trialling my Bergans Microlight wind jacket as a sun hoodie. I have two such jackets and I've noticed my older version after many washes has become very soft and incredibly breathable (if I cup the fabric around my mouth I can breathe freely through it). I've noticed in general that there is a huge difference in breathability between wind jackets. For example my Haglöfs wind jacket is practically impossible to suck air through. So i figure these more breathable softer wind jackets would work well as a sun hoodie. Probably similar to the Patagonia airshed

The cuffs in mine are quite narrow and more tightly elasticated than I've had on any other jackets. Thankfully not as bad as the ee windshirt was, and it's usable but it's a pain to get over my watch.

I can empathise ! my watch became redundant when I was wearing it ! It would leave constriction (is that a word ?....we'll blow me....it is ) marks !

I attach a digital watch on my rucksack strap for map and compass navigation. I have also worn it outside of the coat cuff for same.

The only downside is that heart rate monitor will obviously not work but I connect my watch to a Myzone belt (more accurate and used daily in gym) so a non issue for me

95% i use my garmin watch as a recorder, not something i watch at, except probably to check when sunset is, so it stays under the cuff. GPS works just fine.
