looking for some advise here really.

Wore my old winter boots for a change the other day and was in agony with them pinching my little toe.
    Time for some new boots.

Need a new pair of trail runners as well, since my last pair or New balances have holes. Like the reviews and looks of the Inov8 GTX Roclite 315's so was thinking of getting those.

Would the 315's be suitable to wear year round, just coupled with some thicker socks and gaiters in the depths of winter? Hoping to get out in some snow this year though, so micro spikes or crampons will be purchased too. not up gullies etc, sticking to main established hiking routes.

Should i go for a dedicated winter boot to use in the winter? Any recommendations here?
downside i can see is i much prefer trail runners, so these would probably get minimal use.

The 315 is my go to trail shoe now. Funky sizing so may need to try on. The kevlar mesh isn't very breathable compared to the 305, but that's what I think will make it a winner for winter.
I've got the normal mesh 325 mids too. The ideal would be the 325 with kevlar mesh for me. The 315 seems to have great longevity which is what attracted me initially.

Dedicated 4 season winter boots not neccsary unless front pointing ( gullies/ climbing) but a good 3 season boot will offer more stabillity and comfort when walking in crampons and also give your feet more warmth and protection from straps etc.

I'll be using the Salomon Ultra 3 GTX's until the snow gets deep then switching to the Altberg Mallerstangs for warmth.
