After a blustery few days in the Lakes I’d like to get SWMBO a windshirt for her upcoming birthday, any recommendations?

Hood and full length zip a must

NOT Paramo Fuera (-unless they have done a total re-design :cautious:)
    - heavy, wide boxy shape, zips on pockets are "wrong way up" so every thing falls out when opening , and mine wetted out immediately/no rain resistance at all.

Having bought Mrs JKM a Montane one for Xmas, I can say that Montane sizing is either unthathomable or they are appallingly cut. I sent it back to sportshoes 3-4 times.
Usually she is a small/medium or 10/12 but ended up in the largest size they did. XXL or uk18 or something silly.

I made the schoolboy error of letting her pick her own in a shop that stocks Arcteryx.

From that point on.. Arcteryx was the benchmark.

Not tight or owt but she has a better hard-shell than me.

    Tread carefully ;)

Have found Sportshoes to be crap on all footwear bought from them, no matter which brand.
Wifes a five in shoes and trainer but has to wear a 7 for any shoe from them ...

@Shewie, only you know Mrs’ Shewies colour choices.
Mrs’ ferret thought the colour choice from Montane etc were a bit err lacking. ( choose peppermint, pink or purple)
    Fair play! :)

I was just looking at the Patagucci offerings at ULOG and they have a Houdini in that Timmy Mallet print as it happens

If your not worried about the last 20g I can recommend the decathlon £16 one. Size up, my do is 120g with good and zipped pockets. Good HH.

Gone for the Rab Vital instead of the Houdini, the fit looks a bit odd on the pictures though so we'll see what it's like when it arrives.

I was going through the same process for me on Saturday. The Rab Vital looked good (and before I then went for a Mtn Equipment one as I prefer smocks) due to price and pockets but I was concerned about its breathability. This came from reviews here https://www.outdoorgearlab.com/topics/clothing-mens/best-wind-breaker-jacket

I'd be interested to know what you think once it arrives.

Hardly a good review when they used the vital for uphill bike climbs. Bike specific wind shirts have vented backs etc for just that reason.
I had one and the wife still has one

Had a look at the Decathlon site - @Enzo - there are quite a few wind jackets, which one specifically did you mean? There is a women's FH500 Helium (ref: 8552999) <- that one?
