I am vertically challenged and would love to find a second hand Arc Scout or Arc Haul Scout. I am reluctant to import one since my torso height is about 16.5" and I am not sure about the fit.
If you have one and don't want to sell it, I would love to hear from you about your experiences.
    Thanks

I’ve got a scout. It’s an inch too short for me and I might sell in the next few months but not yet. You’re welcome to look at/try it if you’re passing north London. I’m 5’4” and My back length is 18”. Back length wise I’d be better with an arc blast but the straps on the blast are too wide both in width and in spacing for my narrow shoulders. The scout has narrow shoulder straps which are perfect.

It’s also worth noting that the volume in the scout is somewhat smaller than the blast which can be challenging on a long trip or import desirable discipline, depending on your pov.

Thanks Clare. I am only 5'2" and 16.5" torso so I am hoping it will be the right size for me. The narrow shoulder straps sound very good. Unfortunately I live near Inverness and am not often in London... but it could be a good excuse for a trip to the big city. ;)
Please let me know if and when you are interested in selling and I'll let you know if I am down your way.

I am currently using a stripped down 38L Exos but with a Tread Lite Gear Chest Pack so I am hoping the 50L will be enough. Although I believe that the 38L is the main compartment while the scout 50L includes outside pockets. I expect them to be similar sized.
Out of curiosity, what is the weight of yours ?

609g including 2 hip belt pockets. According to my data sheets anyway, I’m away on a train at the mo. Might re-weigh it when I get home Sunday. I love the pack btw. I intend to make one with arc blast body and arc scout shoulder straps but have been a lazy mare.

If you fail in getting 2nd hand Zpacks - the (now defunct) Golite packs might suit. A bit like hens teeth 2nd hand but you never know :cautious:.
I have a back length 15.5" and their womens short is spot on for me. Their "Jam" is frameless (unless you mod :whistling:) and is ~50l.

Thanks for the recommendation, Cathy. I can have lower back problems and so am not sure that I could ever go frameless - unless I spend a lot more money on low weight tent and sleeping bag. I will go and see what I can learn about Golite Jam and may come back to you to learn about possible modification.

Of course, if someone had a modified Golite Jam that was just sitting in a cupboard and that they wanted to get rid of.... for example, if there were more than 30 in a house, who would notice if one disappeared :angelic:.

I have only the one Jam ….. sorry - and it's getting a bit "worn" :(.

The mod I made was to put a "V" made of garden cane in the bladder pocket to stiffen the back which has plenty of padding already.
