I wrote to blacks yesterday about the weight of a down bag they had on sale as it wasn't listed. All i asked was how much it weighed. Not fill weight or fill power. There response was quite comical but also rather sad.

It's no wonder the companies going down the pan if they don't even know that down bags offer a better warmth to weight ratio than synthetic.
Blacks used be quite a good shop, it's now just one step away from field and trek in its demise.

I noticed too that the Blacks website doesn't offer all the specs which are freely available on other websites. ( some items on Go website similarly missing info). Poor.

But sometimes very good deals available.

I think it's more about customer service really. The I can't be arsed so i'll make something up approach is never a good idea. If I worked there (heaven forbid) I'd phone the warehouse and ask them to weigh it and then I'd give the answer. Isn't that their job?
It was a good deal although some of their own brand stuff seems to always on sale..

bought a bell tent from blacks of greenock this year---very pleased with it--- great quality---well stitched--tentbag/polebag/pegbag generous sized and strongly made---and a reasonable price---- instead of all these trendy johnny come lately bell tent sellers---i thought i would buy a tent from somebody who had been making them for 150 years

maybe this is better. ( :poop: ) . space either side.
