I emailed yesterday to ask if they would do a quilt without the poncho features. The answer is yes, same price as the standard quilts. They are also doing a new quilt with a foot box. See pic and price is the same as the standard "Sleeper Apex" 133 and 167. Delivery to the UK is €20. Very tempted.

I hope I've interpreted what they said correctly. "Maybe you need classic topquilt? Now we work about classic topquilt with footbox. Price will be same with Sleeper quilts." I'm assuming they mean that all prices are the same depending on filler but will check.

Just got confirmation that the top quilt in 167 Climashield for example is €119 and €20 delivery to UK. 133 is €99.
I ordered the 167 quilt and choonies last night. I'm happy to leave the poncho feature. It shouldn't effect comfort or performance and will be useful for me on a morning when I'm not wearing a jacket to bed.
The ability to open it out fully will also work well for using as a blanket in cold airport waiting rooms, train station platforms or laying accross van/wagon seats in winter when I need a power nap.

Had you asked how much lighter the quilt would be?

I have one too and can also vouch for the quality.
I wonder if you would give us a brief review. Whats the warmth like, ie do you think the claims are accurate (ish). How well do the compress? What's the outside material like? TIA

I’ve used my GramXpert 200 for over 40+ nights; I might be able to chime in.

Working ATM; please remind me tonight :)

Mine's an Apex 67 quilt which I ordered for use in the Middle East and as an overquilt. It weighs 345 gr which you'll have to compare with their site, my data coverage is very spotty (but no complaint, it's the price to pay in snow country). It packs down very well but then again there isn't much insulation. I believe it's rated to 11 degrees which is accurate, I've happily used it slightly below that. The material is very thin nylon, the lighter colours are translucent.

So mine is a eLite with sewn round footbox, filled up with Apex 200.

It's rated at -1°C which seems fair. I've used it plenty of times around those temps with baselayers and was fine. -7°C was the coldest I had it in & I was a tad cold wearing pretty much everything (baselayers + fleece + Apex 100 jacket). I am a pretty cold sleeper.

I can fit the quilt into a 9L stuff sack but prefer to pack it loosely in the bottom of my pack. It compresses fairly well for it's warmth & weight. I think Apex 200 is the best compromise between warmth/weight/bulk, if you want a warmer bag I think down makes slightly more sense.

The material is a very soft silky feeling nylon that doesn't feel clammy. It's a nice fabric but I don't know much about fabrics.

I really, really like it. Can't make up my mind if I'd take my Vaude Alpstein 450 down quilt or the eLite for Skye.

The Alpstein is soooo warm & cozy though...

Would you be able to confirm the size and weight to what’s being advertised thank you.

Mine weighs 646 grams, and is a M in length & regular in width. They advertise 655 grams but mine doesn't have the zipper or the footbox closure system.

I use my As Tucas Foratata quilt most. I used it on my 2017 Challenge. It’s warm (for me) down to about 2deg. Has 250g of the highest quality fill I’ve seen (better than even Western Mountaineering). The bag overall weighs 510g and is long enough for me to pull over my head, and wide enough to satisfy a restless sleeper like me. I bought the eLite primarily for my camper van but it’s also useful as a summer bag. Personally, I’d always take an inner tent on the Challenge as you never know what the weather might throw at you. On my 2015 Challenge, there was a cold wind most of the way across and I was thankful for the Scarp with a nice wind proof inner tent.

Many Thanks @Robin that is very helpful. I'll definitely take my inner, I guess it will be worth the extra 200g and what you say is good advice. With regard to sleeping bags I'm still in a bit of a quandry. I think what I have will be OK in terms of temperature rating but it is a bit heavy 1.1kg. I'll have a look at the Foratata. Thanks again.

I see someone asked about what size it compacted to. I guess it is going to be similar to other Climashield APEX quilts. Maybe one of the other firms that use it have some usable information. I'm a pit put off by the poncho "function" that I think I'd never use.

There's a definite gap in the market for a quilt which uses some cunning origami and Kam Snaps to turn into warmwear which doesn't make you look like an extra from a sci-fi movie. It carries too high a pack weight not to be dual use. I'm ok with not having long sleeves because those makes very thin nylon vulnerable to stove and twig-fire accidents.

I asked about adding more insulation to their quilts:

"Yes we can produce quilt Apex 200 or 233. This one will be made up of 2 layers of insulation: 100+100 or 100+133 or 133+133"

If anyone is interested and wants a price for different spec you can email the business owner, Evgen, here: mail@liteway.equipment
He is very responsive and helpful.

Could you give some feedback please Daniel?
Things such as comfort, are the hip belt pockets removable, does it have a heavier weight DCF on the bottom?
Plus anything else you can think would be good. Ta
same 2.92oz dcf all around, the belt pockets aren't removable. comfort no issues same as any other frameless pack. plenty of padding on shoulder straps. my only gripe is the hip belt padding could be a few inches longer fortunately its just in my hips but anyone wider will struggle.

Thanks Daniel. Good to know -have shot them an email as well.

Unsure if this helps as a comparison, but I have the Attila (great pack) and I find the pockets just come round the sides of my hips and I have a 34” waist.
