Facebook Marketplace gear worth a look

I decided to only cross post things here from FB if I actually know the seller.

I sold my Notch on FB UL gear group and unthinking clicked to show it on Marketplace. Within a very short time I got a "Is the Item Still available" message. My knee jerk reaction was to say "No sorry" thinking it was a scam approach. A few days later I got a human message saying is your Notch still available, I thought you had sold it. The same person and they bought it. The problem is it is such a minefield it is hard to decide where to step.

"Is this item still available" is a default answer option on FB messenger, so many will use that instead of taking time to type a message, which I tend to do to stand out from generic messages.

I noticed the increase in scams on Facebook as well, so much that my bank messaged me to warn me of the fact. I had 3 different people wanting to come and collect the item but they were working so we're going to send there brother🤣. I messaged them all and asked if it was the same brother as the other 2 scammers

Paradoxically I've noticed an increase in bank scams. 🤣

Martin Rye has dropped the price of his Atompacks Mo 60 long back 19-21cm with large hip belt to £175. On

Ultra Light Hiking Gear Exchange UK

It has a tear on the mesh bottle pocket on the LH shoulder strap. I reckon this may be relatively easy to remove if you didn't want a bottle pocket on the strap and it is now half new price. Martin is a good guy, trusted seller. I've seen the pack but didn't take much notice of it at the time.

Just arrived this morning. It's like new! Not even a whiff from the PU groundsheet! All seam tape firmly attached. I may give the groundsheet a precautionary reproofing but looks good to go. Takes the urgency out of my Survival Aids twin hoop bivvy project. That's had a new groundsheet & awaiting retaping.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Nice one. I just got an old school Integral Designs sil wing tarp second hand built to last.

This lady makes insulated stuff sacks, £12 delivered. I bought one and it’s great, keeps meal warm and then I use it to keep my phone and battery bank warm overnight. She does buckle closure or velcro; I think I prefer the latter as it gives more space when a meal pouch is placed inside…..
