Shelter News - a thread for new shelter talk

Nah. But but by those waves on the loch and everything moving I bet that wasn't even near 30mph.
Boys weather.:angelic:
Short pegs and sloppy pitching made those duomids look bad. Bigfoot's seemed much less flappy.

Then there was the storm in Montrose - TGO 2014.... :arghh:

Anyone bought one of these MLD Patrol clones? Actually it looks a bit more like a different cat cut tarp shelter with a beak but I can't remember which one.

Mine arrived today (I was waiting for the green to get back in stock and took advantage of a sale). I've long been intrigued by the patrol shelter so this was a good opportunity...

From a very, very quick look: the fabric feels different and doesn't wrinkle the way the old one did (maybe they decided to upgrade after Ron Bell's video :roflmao:). The colour is different too, a light olive green rather than the previous greenish grey. Stitching looks to be OK although some of the perimeter tie outs look like they were cut a little sloppy (these just sandwich the fabric and are box-stitched so easy to replace if so inclined). The same linelocks are used but the guys use thicker cord in bright orange. It comes with two stuff sacks, one for the tarp and one for the huge pegs along with a tube of silicone. The peg's bag is the same size as the shelter's so I switched them out before binning the pegs. 307 grams in its stuff sack and pretty compact.

It's the only relatively cheap TFS tent. Strange door arrangement though, you're bound to have a lot of flapping fabric.

Yep, I can see that door arrangement getting a bit annoying, there's some mid height pullouts but nothing on those big sides as far as I can tell. Although I do like the way it sits, it doesn’t seem to have those heavy cat cuts some of the China mids have
