Bargain Alert - outdoor gear deals worth a look

Makes sense, I stand corrected, I wasn't sure about that hence the word 'potentially'.
That said - No specific mention of that in Go Outdoors T&Cs but T&Cs are bit woolly so they/you could argue the point if they/you had the energy.

With regards to berghaus tent fabric, the pro stuff in green rather than red. My other half's peak 3.3pro has had about 50 nights use and fabric is starting to wet through rather than bead. Just needs a re proof. It's 2.9kg though, but for a 3 man tent with extended porch and allegedly 4 season that's not too bad.

If you have wide feet, size up at least half a size ;-)
Not sure which my old Adidas are, look very similar apart from the sole unit and toebox. I'm a half size up on mine and would go even a full size up for 30k days...
The sole on mine are continental rubber which is good on slick rock and gravel, not so good in thin (inch) mud .
I wouldn't take them over the moors , and not sure I'd do the lakes in them unless I knew it was more stone than muddy.
The ones on Amazon may give better grip on muddy routes?
May end up selling mine or resign them to winter work boots...

One of those pics looks like the inner would get wet upon opening the door in wet weather. Think I prefer the akto and laser way round for the hoop.

I came across this on this thread at BPL:
"I wrote to Rab asking for a comparison (of the Alpha Flash) with the above (Alpha Flux and Paradox Pull-On), as well as wondering at how warmth and breathability would compare to their Hi-Loft Polartec offering, the Firebrand, and their reply was:
"“You are correct in thinking that the Flash will be the warmest & most breathable of those you mentioned. If you were to couple it with a wind top like the Boreas much of the breathability would be retained. The Firebrand is warmer than the Alpha Flash due to a higher loft & greater bulk of insulation therefore performance comparison is tricky. The Flash very much focus on lightweight, minimal bulk insulation in a highly breathable format”."

Picked up an alpha flash, thanks for the heads up.
Me too.
I'm now rocking the high tech granddad's cardigan look!
(in a merry grey).

Am up in Snowdonia, have worn it for a few walks now. Very comfy, nice fit, I quite like the way it looks. The alpha material has no stretch in it so the underarm and side sections are needed

Pocket is pointless though, doesn't fit a phone so would be better without one. Great value top

That raw alpha cardy is ace imho, agree about pocket. Weight wise it's lighter with a 120g windproof than the flux and warmer. Great bit of gear and looks great with a briar root pipe!

Thinking of selling mine (Flash) already. Done another day with it and starting to dislike the feel, unnecessary width and performance of the non-Alpha panels.

Maybe needs a longer trip than 3 days or colder/drier weather to shine.

Tis light though.
