I did a 3 night bpack from Bala lake to Dolgellau afew winter's ago, it was my first time up Glasgwn, I was going to camp where you did but started late on the first day so didn't get past Aran Fawddwy camping below the top.

As an aside, I think this may have been the last time I used my Alpkit pied d'elephant sleeping bag. It was very cold that night at over 900m (another clue)

Yes, the sunset is looking over Rannoch Moor. If you look at the photo with the tent (looking roughly S) you'll see high twin peaks in the distance, that may give an additional clue
